Having experienced firsthand the emotional, spiritual, and societal barriers that many women face, Dr. Turner-Williams recognized the urgent need for a safe, empowering space where women could access trauma-informed care, heal, rebuild, and rise into purpose. What began as a personal calling has evolved into a movement—restoring dignity, faith, and opportunity to women everywhere. RestoreHER was created to ensure that women, regardless of their past or location, have access to restorative resources and a path to rebuild their lives. What started with one woman’s story has now become a national voice of advocacy, healing, and women empowerment. RestoreHER exists so that no woman walks alone, and every woman has the opportunity to rise, thrive, and lead with impact.

As a 10x published author of Surviving in Silence: Overcoming Domestic Violence, Dr. Chemeka Turner-Williams shares her personal story of pain, survival, and transformation. What I once held in—my pain, my fear, my story—became the very chains that kept me bound. Like so many women, I learned to survive by staying silent, thinking that silence meant strength, safety, or protection. But in reality, it isolated me, stole my identity, and kept me hidden in shame.
It wasn’t until I spoke the truth—first to myself, then to others—that healing began. Truth unlocked my voice and exposed the lies, shattering the shame while giving me permission to be seen, heard, and whole. Speaking the truth didn’t just set me free; it empowered other women to do the same. Now, through RestoreHER, I help women find the courage to speak again, dream again, and live again—because their voice matters, and their freedom is on the other side of silence. Our community outreach initiatives focus on trauma-informed care, ensuring that every woman feels supported as she steps into her power.
